Here’s something new!!! Beginning Thursday, June 10th, at 9AM, you are invited to “Growth Group”! Each Thursday at 9 we’ll gather in the Jack Reichert Hall to focus on the issue of growth: personal, spiritual, and congregational. As with any important Presbyterian gathering, there will be beverages and calories involved! Through fascinating conversation, scripture study and prayer, we’ll explore sound strategies for growing as people, spirits - and as a family of faith. Everyone is invited to join us for this one hour - weekly gathering. You’re welcome to bring questions, ideas, hopes and dreams. As a small group, we’ll support each other as we seek to make positive changes in our lives and our community. I know that not everyone can join us on Thursday mornings, but if you have an interest in such a gathering, this could possibly be the first of many. So, if you have any questions, ideas, etc, feel free to give me a call. Or just join us on Thursday, June 10th! Peace, - Pastor Kevin STRAWBERRY FEST WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT! The nation has achieved remarkable success in rebuilding following a 1994 genocide, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 800,000 people. The “Penny Sunday” funds will provide additional help to this emerging nation. NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY - Our upcoming directory will be a PHOTO directory, done by School Pics, the studio where Jenny Lefevre works. We’ve NEEDED a photo directory for some time; with so MANY new folks, it really helps us get acquainted! Photos will be taken Sun July 11, Mon July 12, & Tues July 13 (& Wed the 14th, if absolutely necessary). There are sign-up sheets in the narthex; schedule your photos at the most convenient time for your family on those days. We really HOPE to have ALL in the church family included - & there’s NO CHARGE to you, (though you may ORDER pictures for yourself if you wish, for which, of course, there will be a cost.) We’re inviting our own young people to attend, & will also be reaching out to kids in the immediate neighborhood & beyond! It will be an amazing, fun & Spirit-filled time! We’re asking for volunteers to help “plan the launch”, & are recruiting “ground control personnel” to work with our “cadets”. The sky’s the limit as we learn about God, following Jesus’ path, & loving all that exists in the universes of our creator! Terry Arenz is in charge of “Mission Control”. We Love Our Custodial Volunteers ! For May, those dusting, vacuuming, mopping & cleaning were: Joann & Steve Jakubowski; Judy & Jim Dickson, Joanne & Bill Burke & Ed Griffith. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! These volunteers continue to be our “Custodial Angels”, for it’s a vitally important means of keeping our expenses here at the church down! DO, PLEASE, consider helping the church in this way! The PEACE & JUSTICE COMMITTEE is recruiting volunteers to prepare “chili mac” to be delivered to the food kitchen at St. Ben’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. We prepare the meal on the Sunday afternoon before the second Monday of each month, & deliver it to St. Ben’s, where it is served to homeless persons on Monday. If you’ve not assisted with this effort before, a committee member will be glad to help you with the shopping, & give advice on meal preparation. (Complete grocery lists & cooking instructions are available.) Sign-up at the table at the rear of the sanctuary; we need folks to help in all sum- mer months. As the economic crisis continues, many hungry people must be fed. The event begins at 6:00 PM on the 16th with the “Survivor’s Lap”, & continues until 10:00 AM on the 17th. GAPC is sponsoring a team, & we need WALKERS! The object is to have walkers on the field every hour for the duration of the relay; sponsors for the walkers are also needed! There’s a sign-up sheet for walkers at the rear of the sanctuary; it’s such a worthy cause, we hope many of our folks will take part! We really appreciate your donations of books. Thank you.“ Ghana Partnership - There’s a letter on the bulletin board in the narthex from the Ghana Partnership Team, thanking our congregation for the gift of $100 toward the Ghana Delegation Hosting Fund.
